How long have you said, "If I only had the time, I'd learn that iMovie software"? Spend a short week this summer creating, editing, and publishing a digital video project. If you are interested in true authentic, performance assessment this session is for you. You will learn how to engage students in learning opportunities where they:
Represent information and ideas accurately and appropriately
Create visual presentations to communicate data with power and purpose
Use digital video tools to teach others a concept.
Each York participant will receive a digital video camcorder for their classroom. Non-York participants will have the option of purchasing the same camera for a nominal fee of $119.
You will spend time being introduced to the hardware, digitizing video and exploring the tools of iMovie such as:
Synchronizing audio to video
Overdubbing
Adding effects and transitions
Publishing your production to DVD
Video Podcasting
Streaming video to the Internet
We will also explore the use of multimedia rubrics to answer the question, "How good is good enough?" You will leave the week with a digital video project and an outline of a plan to use the technology with your students in the fall. Lights, Camera, Action! - See you in June!
