Tools for Professional Learning Communities: Promoting and Supporting Collegial Conversations Focused on Student Results, Grades K-12
Instructor Catherine Glaude
How do Professional Learning Communities become part of the culture where team and school conversations are focused on improving student results? Collectively educators possess a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experiences that are invaluable resources to each other. When the focus is on improving student results, educators need each other as they seek to improve their instructional practices. Protocols are tools to help school and team leaders promote a climate and build the discipline for collegial dialogue that truly makes a difference in their schools. The goals for this session are for participants to:
Experience a variety of protocols for fostering dialogues on student results
Understand how to influence the culture of a school through the use of protocols
Create a toolkit of protocols to match individual school and team needs
Build personal skill in facilitating and using protocols
