Connected Mathematics II, Initial and Users Training, Grades 6-8

The seventh annual CMP Summer Institute will feature the new CMP II materials. New teacher's editions and student books will be the foundation of the 4 day workshop this year. Each day will be divided into two sessions. Morning sessions will focus on the NEW CMP II units. Different 6th, 7th, and 8th grade units will be broken down, and individual lessons and activities investigated together. Afternoon sessions will be devoted to in-depth issues that are relevant to CMP teachers. Teachers will be working together to better understand philosophy and pedagogy, to share tips, shortcuts and assessments that are working in their middle school classrooms. Michigan State University trained teacher leaders, Andrea Gould, David Galli and Liz Kinzly, seasoned users of the CMP program, have been CMP trainers for several years. Lead teachers have attended training sessions on CMP II rewrites at Michigan State University.
